Wine Tasting and Briefing with Prof. Asher Tishler

Sixty TAU alumni and friends gathered at the beautiful Manhattan home of Dr. Nirit Weiss and Michael Shaoul, treasurer of AFTAU's board of directors, for a briefing on Israel's near-term economy from special guest Prof. Asher Tishler, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Leon Recanati Graduate School of Business Administration.

A highlight of the evening was the spectacular view from the hosts' rooftop at sunset, with the rain clouds miraculously clearing on cue.

Prof. Tishler also shared his oenophilic expertise as he led a tasting of six kosher wines from Israel's wine regions.

The evening began with a welcome by Omer Donnerstein, NY Alumni Leadership Committee member and event co-chair — who presented Nirit and Michael with a gift on behalf of AFTAU — and Gail Reiss, AFTAU President & CEO. Nomi Ghez, AFTAU Board member and Chair of The Leon Recanati Graduate School of Business School, provided an introduction for Prof. Tishler.

NY Alumni Leadership Committee member and event co-chair Yonatan Gur and Jon Gurkoff, AFTAU’s National Chairman, concluded the evening with formal thanks to the hosts and guests.
